The lore around this song is one of the many masterpieces that made WoW possibly the greatest game of all time. I recommend playing the blood elf questline that leads to this song in game.
First time playing Cataclysm and doing the classic version now, I turned in one quest and this started to play. It immediately caught my attention. Such a beautiful piece of music.
There is a toy you can get from the legendary axe quest out of the ICC raid from Wrath that summons those ghosts to play the song.

You go to kill those banshees with that insane blast attack and one randomly drops an item that send you to sylvannas and she almost cries then sings this song. Then years later shes the main villain. I remember I was about to turn this quest in and there was a random player about to leave then turned around just to hear the song.

I was leveling my character and after a dungeon sent me back to Stormwind, this song started playing, I don't remember hearing it before. 10/10 will return here from time to time

It used to be a quest completion. I was honored to be one of the lucky rogues who got to accomplish it. It was a very proud moment in WOW life. They really took an important piece out of the game by removing it. To anyone who witnessed the original, it was such an important moment. Made you feel proud to be horde. Every time someone would complete that quest, everyone in UC would come running and sit or kneel on the steps to watch and hear her. It was an honor. They just don’t make the game like that anymore.

Man, I got goosebumps... from an 14 year old game I am playin for the first time horde and leveling a bloodelf (main still alliance!)... got the quest for the necklace and brought it to sylvanas she was pretty annoyed by the necklace and told to me piss off but suddenly this wonderful sequence with this wonderful song started... what a game :-)

I started playing when the burning crusade first released. WoW was so different back then. Glory to those old memories... Original barrens, Karazhan, Zul'Aman and such. The game was so different back then. It's a whole 'nother ball game now. I wish I could go back in time 15 years. Such happy times... Uncovering secrets and quest lines... Old dungeons my favorites being deadmines and wailing caverns where you will still learning the ropes. But end game raids were so fun too magtheridon and gruuls lair, as well as tempest keep... Mind you, I was an officer in my guild... I had many who followed me at the drop of a dime... Old WoW was so magical.... And I hope that the magic is still alive....😢
Those were the days brother. Back when guilds meant something. Made people look forward to getting out of school and work just to come home and get on with their guild mates. Their cross server killed it. Most people that play now are all on different servers and don’t want to be in guilds. The dungeons and raids are all pretty childish now. I watched my guild trickle down from 45 members to just me. I kept them in the guild just incase they return one day.. but it’s been 10 years since my last member left. I’m alone now. I don’t even like the game anymore, I just stay to guard the guild bank and keep watch incase someone returns. If I ever get isekaied, let this be the game..

I feel like she's not evil, she's just doing what she can to survive. She doesn't harm others needlessly, and even gives those she raised a choice of what they want to do. If there was a way to keep her people from dying out, she would feel no need to continue making more. Part of me hopes she can die in peace, after doing something really heroic.

Biosins Yeah. I'm not saying she's a saint or anything, but she's not outright evil. She's killed many, but it was mostly because of what happened to her. I think she does need to atone, but I do not want her to end up in Hell.

Perhaps it's time to reconsider. There are rumours she turns evil (To be honest, I already consider her an evil villain and no, I don't play Alliance xD) and that she is to be Lich Queen in the future, due to whispers from the Old Gods. But it's a theory.
